Facilities and Frequently Asked Questions
Air Conditioning
Each of our Deluxe Rooms has a quiet
split-type air-conditioner with remote control. There is also a
large ceiling fan in all rooms, which is normally sufficient for
the relatively cool climate of Ubud.
Airport Transfers
Ladybamboo provides transfers to and
from the Airport on request and at very reasonable prices. When
making a room reservation please let us know your flight arrival
details. Please also inform our staff of your departure time one
day ahead.
Audio Systems

All our rooms include now either DVD/CD players or iPod players with radio. Our special Ladybamboo Music Collection on iPods is available on request, if you mention this choice with your booking. Additional conditions MIGHT apply for this extra.
Baby-sitters
Babysitters can be provided - please
allow at least one day notice. Preferable let us know, when you do
your booking.
Bicycles

Our travel desk cares for bicycle riders and can assist you in preparing your bike tour. Especially recommended are those tours, where our driver will take care of you and brings you to a suitable starting point in the mountains, going mainly downhill makes riding a bike in Bali much more enjoyable:)
Check out
Check Out time is 12.00 noon. Please
inform our staff if you wish to check out later than this. Half of
the nightly rate will normally be charged for checking out between
12.00 noon. and 6.00 p.m.- thereafter the full rate. Changing room
is available for guests who have to check out long time before
their flight departs.
Cold Drinks & free afternoon tea

Bottled Water and afternoon tea are complimentary. Please check by yourself the thermos provided and refill, if necessary. In addition to drinks that are obtainable by calling our staff, a selection of canned drinks is available in those rooms, which have their own refrigerator - please ask our staff.
Conference Room & Learning center

On the Villa premises you find the learning centre of the associated Ladybamboo Foundation. With over 60 m2 in size their is ample space for meetings, study and computer work - on requested it can be also turned into a conference room. We can also arrange language courses (currently Indonesian, English, German, Italian & Japanese only) for groups or individuals using the highly acclaimed Rosetta Stone learning program in combination with native speakers. Even our cooking classes sometimes get together here.
Please let us know your requirements before as detailed as possible.
Currency Exchange & Monies
Most efficient way to get money is
via the ATM machines found everywhere in town. For those who prefer
to bring cash we strongly advise ONLY to change money at a Bank or
LICENSED Money Changer; please ask us for current situation. We
regret that we are unable to cash Travellers Cheques.
DVD/iPod

Each of our Deluxe Rooms and better is according to the guests choice equipped with a personal DVD player and a TV, with a wide range of movies available free of charge. Our Superior garden rooms sport iPod players and radio anly. iPod's might be available for rent, CD's and DVD's are available from our front-desk.
Doctor & Medical Services
A doctor can be called to visit you
in the event you fell sick. Their are also two foreign managed
medical organisations active in Bali, who can take care of you in
case you need serious help. Guests are advised to use a travel
insurance.
Dress-code
Guests are asked to respect local
customs wherever possible; please dress respectably whenever you
travel. This is particularly important if you wish to visit
Government Offices such as Immigration, Police Stations, Banks,
etc. Temples visits require a sarong and a sash, which may have to
be hired if you do not have your own. Guests are also reminded that
nude sunbathing and swimming gives offence to many local people,
and therefore should be avoided. It is no problem to walk around in
bathing suits on our premises, but this should be avoided in
town.
Drugs
The Management has been directed to
inform all Guests that it is now a serious crime in Indonesia to
use or to be in possession of generally prohibited drugs.
Infringements can result in lengthy jail sentences and/or heavy
fines.
Electricity & Power failures
220 volts AC, 50 cycles. Voltage
adaptors are available on request, please enquire with your
booking. While power failures and variable voltage may occur, they
are far less frequent than just a few years ago and usually only
last for a few seconds or minutes. Emergency lamps are located on
all strategic points of our premisses and candles are provided in
every room and should last till power is restored..
Email & Faxes
Please try to use your own email
address and only in emergency cases address letters to guests to
our reservation email address.
Incoming faxes will be brought to
your room, and faxes may be sent from the Front Desk.
Fire
Fire extinguishers are available at
the front desk and in the kitchen area. Please do not place candles
anywhere near curtains or other textiles.
Internet
We offer very reasonable or even free
internet access for our guests with own laptops. In addition we can
provide Internet facilities at the associated Ladybamboo
Foundation. There also programs for language learning can be used.
A contribution for the usage of these facilities to the work of the
foundation is much appreciated.
Ironing
An iron is either provided in the
room or can be borrowed from the front desk, an ironing board is
also available for Guest's use.
Laundry
One day service is normally available
at very reasonable prices; please contact our staffs.
Left Luggage
Guests with late departure times or
guests travelling up country may leave bags in our luggage store
room. While we will look after left luggage to the best of our
ability Ladybamboo cannot accept responsibility for any losses
should they occurred.
Library
Each of our De Luxe rooms and better
has a small library in three languages (English, Indonesian,
German). In addition we have a collection of books at the frontdesk
which may be borrowed by the Guests.
Maintenance
If anything in your room needs
attention please let our staff know and insist on filling in the
separate form and hand if in.
Massage & Wellness
We regret, that our own Spa is still
under construction. But in the meantime we provide in-house
massages for our guests at much lower rates than in their home
countries. If you would like use such service please let us know a
day in advance.
Mosquitoes
Most of the year very few mosquitos
find their way in our small paradise. For those special days or
those in need a mosquito-repelling device is provided on request.
Openable mosquito screens are installed on all windows, as most of
our guests do not wish to turn on the air-conditioning and use the
ceiling fan instead.
Payment of account
Please settle your account either in
local currency, in Euro, Singapore Dollar. Please note that for US
Dollars special restrictions apply. While you can settle your bill
with credit cards please note that surcharges may apply and that we
are unable to accept other cards than Master and Visa card. We
regret also, that we are unable to cash Travellers Cheques or to
accept them as payment of your account.
Pool Bar

Full bar and meal service is available.
Postal service
Our staff can assist you. And if you
would like to send an electronic postcard via the Internet, we have
a selection to choose from at our Internet Room.
Rental of cars & motorcycles

If you wish to go anywhere with a reliable driver please contact our staff. If you do not require a driver we can arrange vehicle hire for you. Please be aware that thefts do occur, but so far only outside the Ubud area and mainly on the busy streets of Kuta and its neighbourhoods. The hirer may be expected to cover the cost of replacement.
Room service
Regular Room Service is available
from 8 a.m. till 8 p.m. and on request till 10 p.m. Breakfast may
be served from 7.00 a.m. if ordered the previous night.
Security

Although theft is rare in Bali and even less in Ubud and never has happened in the Villa all our rooms have special safety features, including iron protected windows and In-Room Safety Deposit Boxes; please make use of them at all time. Management will not be responsible for any goods missing from your room. If is not permissible for hawkers, massage ladies, etc., to enter rooms without first reporting to our staff.
Swimming pool

Please ask our staff for pool towel. Visitors from outside Ladybamboo will normally be charged a fee to use the pool.
Telephone
Please see separate instructions near
your telephone. A “Tele”phone card is available at the frontdesk.
Using this charges for international calls are very reasonable, for
example to Europe and the US less than 20 cents per minute. Please
contact our staffs.
TV and Video
Satellite TV and DVD may be viewed in
the main room; please ask at the staff for details. A wide range of
movies is available for hire.
Tipping a
Service Charge is added to your bill.
If you wish to add to that, please do not leave money behind in the
room, but hand it to the staff, where it will be recorded and put
in the Tip Box in your presence. Service charge and additional tips
are divided equally among staff.
Tours
Daily Tours and transport to Dance
Performances and other attractions may also be arranged with our
front desk.
Towels
Please do not take white room towels
to the pool. Pool towels are available. A charge of Rp. 100.000
will be made for a lost towel.
Travel Arrangements
Ladybamboo has its own travel booth
just at our entrance gate. The staff can help you with
reservations, re-confirmations and ticketing to other
islands.
Transport
Meter Taxis are not available in
Ubud. If you wish to go anywhere far a field with a reliable driver
please inform our staff-see separate leaflet for details.
Visitors
Friends or other visitors intending
to stay overnight have to report their intention to the front desk
and one-night visitors have to leave their ID Card with our staff.
This rule has been suggested by our guests for protecting not only
other guests, but also to avoid any responsibility of our staff for
missing valuables in case this rules has not been followed.
